Decorative Twisted Edge Knitting Pattern: Charts and Instructions - Knit and knit
A decorative twisted edge in knitted garments is used to embellish the lower edges of sweaters, pullovers, cardigans, sleeve cuffs, socks, and mittens.
The edge is first worked flat in garter stitch rows, then repeatedly twisted, and only after that joined for knitting in the round.
The number of stitches between decorative twists can vary, as long as the total stitch count is divisible by four.
For a more pronounced decorative effect, the twisted edge can be worked in different yarn colors. For convenience, it is recommended to knit two rows in each color.
